Left the Physical Therapist much better than when I entered. John is not only friendly but is a fine concerned gentleman who knows his business. You never felt like a number as is the case with many PTs. His girl Friday makes you feel special. Which is also not the case at many PTs offices

Within a week of having total hip replacement surgery, I started going to Rutherford Physical Therapy. Now, less than two months later, I have completed my therapy sessions. John has restored my strength, flexibility and most of all my confidence. He is extremely professional, kind and compassionate. As I am without pain now, I can go back to everything I could do before the hip pain started a year ago. I couldn't be more pleased.

Friendly, thorough, accommodating, knowledgable, and most importantly, helpful. I highly recommend Rutherford Physical Therapy.

I saw John to help me work through some crazy Post hip replacement challenges and a shoulder issue. When I first saw him in May I wasn't able to walk because of my balance and light headed events along without pain. He helped me be get to a point where I was walking unaided could live life with my limitation. Having autoimmune diseases changed our therapy modalities and he came up with a treatment plan to get me where I am six months later. He completed my treatment and worked with me with a home plan I am committed to follow to keep me healthy and continuing to strengthen my mobility to live a safe & healthy life. I would recommend him and his office to assist you to regain your healthy life to enjoy. A Doctor of Physical Therapy who is caring, concerned for his patients well being and who will stand up for his patients care.

I went to John for my right shoulder after reading other's reviews. And, I was extremely happy I went. He is a true professional. He schedules just a few patients so that he can personally and carefully monitor each one. He explained things as we went along and monitored the progress. He is also extremely personable and very easy to talk to. We enjoyed conversing about different topics while I was doing my routine.
At the end of the program, my shoulder had regained the strength and was comparable to my left one in movements.
I highly recommend John.

I owe my excellent speedy recovery from a total hip replacement to John Talty, and the Rutherford Physical Therapy, LLC. His personalized approach to my physical therapy enabled me to get back on my feet quickly and gain the confidence I needed to take on my "life and work" routine. John addressed many of the side affects that follow THR surgery with a steady flow of exercises and much guidance. I am grateful for finding a practice that could afford me personal attention and regular progress in time. The facility is clean, the atmosphere is friendly and well equipped with a wide range of physical therapy devices.

When an injury, illness or accident occurs that leaves us unable to do things that we are used to doing it can be overwhelming. It can take its toll on us physically, mentally and emotionally. That is unless you are fortunate enough to be in the kind and very capable hands of John Talty of Rutherford Physical Therapy. Right away you know that you are not going through this ordeal alone. He understands the importance of providing both guidance and support. He is able to do this because he is extremely adept at the lost art of listening. When he has heard your questions and concerns John formulates a plan designed specifically for you. One of the reasons that John is so effective is his ability to explain in very understandable terms not only what he is trying to do but why. It rapidly becomes apparent you are not in this alone. Just as important as any of the equipment at Rutherford Physical Therapy is John’s personalized toolbox of treatment. It includes coaching, cajoling, pampering, pushing, comfort, confidence and so much more as needed on any given day. If you listen carefully during the often grueling process of rehabilitation you may hear that some of your favorite music is playing in the background. Without you realizing it John has extrapolated that information from you and has incorporated into creating an atmosphere that is designed to help you succeed. To the extent that it is possible he makes the painful almost pleasant. It is his attention to little details that makes such a big difference. If you are looking for a 5 Star therapist I suggest that you look elsewhere. But if your goals are loftier Rutherford Physical Therapy is the place for you. I only gave Dr. John Talty 5 Stars because they wouldn’t let me give him 10.

I started with John Talty at Rutherford Physical Therapy in October of 2016 after a bad accident at work. I started in therapy using a walker, graduated to a cane and now I am finally at the point where I do not to use my cane unless absolutely needed. From the day I started until 6/2/17 my last day has made the hardest time in my life hopeful and positive. I will be forever grateful to him for getting me almost back to normal. He always had the patients best interest at heart, pushing through boundaries without going over board, giving extra reinforcement when I was tired and felt like giving up. I would recommend anyone that needs therapy to go here!

"John helped me focus on the troubled area, managing the problem. If you listen, you'll be back in shape! Excellent therapy!"
- Eileen Davis. 7/24/2016
John and the office are both fantastic! Today was my last day of physical therapy and I can honestly say that I will miss him and the place. Its pleasant, clean, the building is easy to find, there's lots of parking, and the office has all the equipment you need. If you or anyone you know needs therapy after an injury or surgery this is definitely the place to be! John always listens, encourages you, and makes sure every problem you came in with on the first visit is solved by the last visit. He always found time to see me and always made every visit as pleasant as the first.

John Talty was my physical therapist for eight months while I struggled with extreme muscle weakness brought on by an auto-immune disease. When I started with John, I couldn't drive, cook, play tennis, work... all activities I had previously enjoyed. With his help, I have gotten back to a normal life.
He is a unique therapist who combines professional expertise, creativity and interpersonal skills to produce solid results. He knows when to push, when to back off, when to mix things up a bit and, most importantly, he knows how to listen. He knows how to encourage and motivate the most dispirited client. I truly hate the gym but continue to go because John convinced me how important it would be for maintaining my health and strength going forward.
I'm grateful to John for helping me to get my life (and tennis game!) back, and I recommend him heartily and without reserve. If I find myself in need of a physical therapist again, John will be the one I will call.

John is a very competent and caring physical therapist. He takes the time to listen as you describe your symptoms and uses his expert knowledge to build a therapy plan that both eases your discomfort and helps you rebuild your strength. He guides the recovery process and helps you build a ongoing program that works for you so you can continue to grow stronger and maintain the gains you made while under his care.

I had a procedure on my foot last October which caused a very painful nerve condition I have called CRPS to flare up. The subsequent pain kept me house bound and unable to walk or stand for very long. I became generally weak and de-conditioned. Because of this painful condition I am very hesitant to do physical therapy because in the past some therapist have not understood my condition and chronic pain. I found them unable to break from their preset protocol and adjust to my condition and individual needs. By ignoring the need for me to build slowly or adjust the movement in a different way, I was often pushed so hard that I ended up getting hurt and forced to discontinue my therapy.
John came highly recommended to me and I found him to be very talented therapist- knowledgeable about chronic pain and rehabilitation, minus the "no pain no gain" philosophy which has left me worse off in the past. He was patient and willing to listen to my concerns. He was able to design a program that helped me increase my strength without flaring the nerve disorder. If a particular exercise was too uncomfortable or difficult he would adjust the positioning or exercise so that I was still able to strengthen the weakened muscle without causing injury. It was a team effort and I was very pleased with the overall progress that I made.
I am planning on calling on him again after the next attempt to fix my foot condition and I would recommend him to a friend or family member.
